About this file
This document is a Bid Questions and Responses file issued by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for Invitation to Bid (ITB) Number DOT-ITB-26-3004-SC, concerning a Truck Mounted Dump Body with Fold Down/Drop Down Sides procurement. The document captures a specific bidder inquiry about the specifications for a pull tarp, specifically requesting confirmation about the aluminum finish for the equipment. The response from FDOT indicates that the aluminum finish will be acceptable, noting that the previously preferred black finish is not available.
The bid document suggests this is part of a larger procurement process for transportation equipment, with the specific response addressing a technical specification detail that could impact vendor compliance. While the document does not provide comprehensive pricing or full procurement details, it demonstrates FDOT's approach to vendor communications during the bidding process, showing flexibility in material specifications while maintaining core equipment requirements. The document is dated July 24, 2025, and is part of a structured procurement process that allows potential vendors to seek clarification on technical specifications before submitting final bids.

1. The specs are asking for a pull tarp that is polished aluminum. Can you give me that name brand that the state has been using so I can ensure the state gets what they are asking for?
Response: The aluminum finish will be acceptable, since the black is not available.
