About this file

The document is a Quarterly Checklist for landscape maintenance services for the City of Hayward, California. The checklist provides comprehensive guidelines for landscape maintenance contractors to perform regular upkeep of municipal landscape areas across four quarterly periods (March, June, September, and December). Key maintenance tasks include trash and debris removal, shrub and tree trimming, maintaining clear pathways and sidewalks, turf management, weed and dog feces removal, irrigation system inspection and repair, mulch application, and monitoring of landscape conditions.

The checklist requires contractors to document and report various activities, including fertilizer and pesticide application, irrigation system modifications, plant health assessments, and any landscape problems such as tree diseases, soil compaction, or pest infestations. Contractors are mandated to email a completed maintenance checklist to MSDLandscape@hayward-ca.gov, which includes sections for program modifications, extra work needed, and specific landscape issues. The document serves as a standardized tracking and reporting mechanism to ensure consistent and thorough landscape maintenance across the city's managed areas.
