About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) sheet related to the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Caribbean United for Women's Economic Empowerment (CUWEE) project, issued by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs (WHA).
The CUWEE project aims to address systemic barriers and socio-cultural attitudes that challenge gender equity and equality in the Caribbean economy, and to build the economic resilience and skills capacity of women and adolescent girls aged 16 and older to enable them to enter the labor force and obtain economic security. The project will be administered through a cooperative agreement and has a total anticipated funding of up to $1,973,359 in FY 2023 Gender Equity and Equality Action (GEEA) Economic Support Funds (ESF) for a project period of up to three years. The Q&A clarifies that the submitting organization does not need to have already established partnerships with civil society organizations in each of the identified countries to apply, but must demonstrate the capacity to develop such partnerships if selected for funding.
