About this file

This document contains the Questions and Answers (Q&A) related to the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) SFOP0010296 for the Caribbean United for Women's Economic Empowerment (CUWEE) project. The CUWEE project, administered by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs (WHA), seeks to address systemic barriers and socio-cultural attitudes that challenge gender equity and equality in the Caribbean economy, and to build the economic resilience and skills capacity of women and adolescent girls aged 16 and older to enable them to enter the labor force and obtain economic security. The NOFO is funded through the FY 2023 Gender Equity and Equality Action (GEEA) Economic Support Funds (ESF), with a total anticipated award not to exceed $1,973,359 for a project period of up to three (3) years. The CUWEE project intends to support a competition that will promote local civil society organizations (CSOs) to develop and implement solutions to overcome local systemic barriers to economic security for women, and to provide a training curriculum to build the capacity of and strengthen the regional Caribbean network of local CSOs engaged in women's economic security.
