About this file

This document is a Q&A response related to a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Florida Department of Management Services for a Building Occupancy Monitoring Solution. The RFI aims to obtain industry information on products and services available, including pricing structures, for monitoring building occupancy across the Department's portfolio of 112 buildings spanning approximately 12 million gross square feet. The Department is seeking options and capabilities for collecting occupancy data at various levels, including building/floor, desk and workpoint, conference rooms, and common areas. The RFI does not have any set timeline or due date, as it is for planning purposes only and not a solicitation for offers. Should the Department decide to competitively procure a solution, all contractors and subcontractors would be subject to background screening.

The RFI responses will be reviewed to understand the potential cost versus benefit of different solution types and features, including wired or battery-powered options, LAN or cellular capabilities, and cloud-based hosting requirements. The Department is not currently capturing or storing utilization data, and the RFI responses may include options for handling, storing, and accessing the data for various use cases, such as data-driven decision making, dynamic cleaning services, space design, and power management.
