About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for Colorado contract opportunity PMAA-4215-NASRF isolation building tanks bid (DQ1 2018-0558), addressing clarifications regarding the procurement of tanks and raceways for fish holding and rearing operations. The project requires 12-foot diameter tanks with integrated support skirting and raceways designed as stand-alone structures. The contractor must fabricate the tanks as one-piece construction with the support skirting molded as a single unit, along with any necessary under-tank structural support. A diagram of the intended raceway setup was provided to bidders. The delivery date for the tanks is a firm deadline of February 5, 2018.
Bidders were advised that tanks should not be submitted as separate sectional pieces for on-site assembly, as the government's preference required single-piece fabrication despite any cost advantages associated with modular construction and separate assembly labor. The February 5, 2018 production and delivery date is non-negotiable and incorporated into the project specifications, with the government acknowledging concerns related to holiday schedules and cold weather conditions affecting the fiberglass fabrication process.

DQ1 2018-0558 – Questions and Answers
1. What is the application for the tanks? Aquarium? The tanks and raceways will be used to hold and to rear fish.
2. Do the raceways need to connect to the large tanks? The tanks and raceways are intended to be stand alone structures.
3. Do you have general drawings or setups? Version 3 of DQ1 2018-0558 created to add an attachment which is a diagram of how the raceways are intended to look. The diagram is also attached to this email.
4. Is it acceptable to bid on the tank using separate pieces (ship in section, including a separate base, to be assembled on site—a separate labor cost for assembly could be included in the bid), rather than one solid tank? Our preference for the 12' diameter tanks would be for them to be fabricated as one piece construction, including the support skirting molded as one piece with the tank. Also any under tank support deemed necessary for structural support.
5. Is the production date of February 5, 2018 a firm date? The concern is with the holidays and cold weather for fiberglassing. 02/05/18 delivery date is a firm date. It is included as part of the specifications for the tank.
