About this file
This document is a question and answer (Q&A) document related to a state contract opportunity for American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation services throughout the State of Illinois. The contract, solicitation number 25-350SOS-DRIVE-B-44288, is being sought by the Illinois Secretary of State (ILSOS) to obtain a single vendor/agency to provide ASL interpretation services on an as-needed basis across the state. The contract will be awarded to one successful bidder, and there are no negative consequences for an interpreter's unavailability, as ILSOS will work with the selected agency to find the closest available interpreter to fulfill each request. The contract does not allow for multiple vendors to be selected.
The pricing and other commercial terms of the contract are not detailed in this Q&A document. The contract appears to be for on-demand ASL interpretation services, with the selected vendor responsible for providing coverage across the state as requested by ILSOS. No other salient information, such as contract duration, renewal options, or funding sources, is provided in this Q&A.

Questions & Answers Sign Language Interpreters
25-350SOS-DRIVE-B-44288
1. Is the bid for occasional ASL Interpretation throughout the State of IL?
Yes
2. Are there any negative consequences if I am not available for the assignment?
When an applicant calls in to make an appointment, ILSOS will let the ASL agency know which facility the applicant has requested to go to. Then, the ASL agency looks for the closest interpreter employed at their agency and notifies ILSOS whether they have a person who fits the location and time the applicant is available. ILSOS would send confirmation to the applicant that services are available.
3. Will the assignment be given to several ASL Interpreters who win the bid at the same time?
No, ILSOS is seeking a single vendor/agency to provide coverage throughout the State.
