About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document issued by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for a competitive invitation to bid (ITB) related to equipment procurement for District Five operations. The contract opportunity, identified as DOT-ITB-5004-KSP-Kepler Stormwater Pump, concerns the purchase of one 6-inch emergency stormwater skid mount pump designated for the Kepler Operations Maintenance Facility. The document was published on October 28, 2025.

The clarification addresses engine specifications for the proposed pump equipment. FDOT has specified that only Cummins or Perkins engines will be accepted for the stormwater pump; alternative engine manufacturers, specifically Deutz engines, are not acceptable. This restriction establishes a narrow equipment specification parameter for bidders responding to this procurement opportunity.
