BUREAU OF ENERGY RESOURCES

Accelerating Women’s Empowerment in Energy

FUNDING OPPORTUNITY #: SFOP0008965

Question #1: Based on page #1 of the “Budget Guidelines” document, the implementing partners are required to use “12-font as a minimum; must fit on 8x11 letter-sized paper”. However, in order to capture the salary escalation and inflation year over year, the implementing partners need to have more columns to account for costs adjustment beyond the first 12 months. Can DOS please advise if implementing partners are allowed to add the necessary columns to the budget detail tab? If not, what is DOS’ recommendation to capture the aforementioned costs above for years 2 and 3 of the project.

DOS Response: No additional columns should be added to the budget template. Salary escalation, COLA (cost of living adjustment), may be factored in and must be explained and justified in the corresponding budget narrative. COLA must be consistent with the organization’s written policy.
