About this file

This document is a Question & Answer (Q&A) addendum for RFP 250000001056, containing bidder questions and the State's responses regarding technical specifications for transit vehicles. The Q&A addresses 30 specific questions related to vehicle construction, materials, and components, including body structure, passenger doors, flooring, emergency exits, undercoating, mirrors, seat materials, electrical systems, and HVAC specifications.

Key decisions include approval of downward folding access doors, SYNERGY as an acceptable D-90 cloth material, side-mounted rear emergency window latches, and modified BTU ratings for auxiliary heaters (17,000 BTU for coolant heater and 13,649 BTU for air heater). Several requests were denied, including changes to self-tapping screw requirements, non-illuminated switches, aluminum door frames, and ABS interior panels in lieu of FRP gelcoat panels. The State maintained strict adherence to original specifications in several areas while showing flexibility in others where alternative solutions met functional requirements without compromising quality or safety standards.
