Key operational details include: no special permits are required for container delivery; containers must be arranged in a group of 4 with heavy-duty steel cargo doors facing outward; the delivery site at Building 1630 will provide 100 feet of clearance for maneuvering; access is through Sartain Gate (24/7) and the Commercial Vehicle Search Area (Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm); and additional containers can be delivered within 10 business days if needed. A: The previous contract number is FA283522P0037.
Q: Permitting: Can you confirm that there are no special permits required by the Base for us to have these containers delivered?
A: There is no need for any special permitting to get the Conex boxes on base. It will be the standard process of going through inspection and providing the work order number according to the base access control & visitor center POCs.
Q: Dimensions: I read the Solicitation and see the required dimensions on the storage unit is 40ft long for 5 containers. Can I submit similar sizing such as 20ft long 10 containers?
A: No, please keep the sizing the same.
Q: Delivery Site Clearance: To ensure proper delivery and placement of shipping containers, please confirm if the parking lot of the designated site provides a minimum of 100 feet of unobstructed clearance for maneuvering and offloading.
A: Building 1630’s parking lot will be cordoned off to provide a minimum of 100 feet of unobstructed clearance for maneuvering and offloading.
Q: Container Door Orientation: Do you have a preferred orientation for the shipping container doors (e.g., facing a specific direction, aligned in a particular manner)?
A: The preferred orientation of shipping container doors is heavy duty steel cargo doors with two-leaf gates present at the rear end of the units. The containers should be arranged in a group of 4 with all cargo doors facing outward for accessibility.
Q: Additional Container Acquisition Timeline: In the event that additional shipping containers are required beyond the initial order, and confirmation of written notice from the government has been acknowledged, what is the expected timeline for shipping containers to arrive on site?
A: Should there be a requirement for additional Conex boxes on site, the expected timeline for the container arrival is 10 business days.
