About this file
This is a Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS) issued by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center on October 20, 2026, for Pratt and Whitney (P&W) Tooling Evaluation and Repair services. The government is conducting market research to identify potential contractors with production data, repair data, expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements for evaluating and performing remedial maintenance on 24 unique P&W support equipment and tooling part numbers (PWA 58307, PWA 58391, PWA 59158-59180, PWA 59182, and PWA 73605). The requirement encompasses evaluation services, repair capabilities, hardware production/fabrication, PLC software programming, and certification that repairs comply with applicable technical data and original equipment manufacturer specifications.
Responses must be submitted in writing by close of business on November 4, 2026, to Roger Farris (roger.farris.1@us.af.mil) and Sherry Harvey-Tuley (sherry.harvey-tuley@us.af.mil). Both large and small businesses are encouraged to participate, with joint ventures and teaming arrangements supported. Respondents must complete a detailed Capability Survey addressing general capabilities, quality assurance processes (ISO 9001, AS9100), current business relationships with Pratt and Whitney, access to proprietary technical data, relevant approvals/certifications, repair experience, inventory management processes, and commerciality of offerings. Contractors should identify any areas suitable for small business set-asides and explain how they would overcome any capability gaps through teaming or subcontracting. Participation in this market research does not guarantee participation in future solicitations or contract awards, and the government will not reimburse expenses. The security clearance level and extent of foreign participation have not yet been determined.
