Subpart 215.470 of the DFARS requires the use of the CDRL in solicitations when the contract will require delivery of data.
Component: A separate identifiable part of an end item which performs a function within the system or subsystem and is necessary for the proper operation of that end item.
Commercial Off-the-Shelf - Hardware, Software or Manuals (COTS): Hardware, Software and Manuals are those technical publications developed by vendors to support commercially available products, and include users’ manuals, parts lists, schematics, etc.
Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR): is an individual who is designated and authorized in writing by the Contracting Officer to perform specific technical or administrative functions on contracts or orders.
Data: All management, engineering, and logistics information, reports and documentation which are required.
