The PWS seeks an accredited Educational Institution to provide formalized academic training, testing, and certificate programs for the February 2025 session of the Apprentice program, with a period of performance from February 21, 2025 through August 22, 2025.
The program serves NNSY's workforce of over 10,000 military and civilian personnel in Portsmouth, Virginia, who maintain and repair US Navy vessels. The apprenticeship includes classroom academic instruction from an accredited institution, industrial trade-based instruction from government personnel, and on-the-job learning through established trade processes. The program, conducted under 29 USC §50, enrolls a new class annually with the academic cycle in the first year, currently estimated at 104 students across 4 sessions per year. This initiative is part of NNSY's strategy to maintain a highly trained and skilled workforce for naval fleet maintenance and modernization.
