About this file
This is a Performance Work Statement (PWS) for the demolition of Buildings 533 and 541 at Vandenberg Air Force Base, to be completed by December 2024. The contractor must demolish both buildings including basements, slabs, adjacent sidewalks, interior/exterior components, and existing equipment, as well as abate and dispose of any Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) or lead-based paint (LBP).
The scope requires cutting and capping utility lines, demolishing slabs at least 18 inches below surface, proper disposal of materials through the Vandenberg Recycling Center, and site restoration including backfilling and re-vegetation with a one-year maintenance warranty. The period of performance is 240 days. Both buildings require ACM surveys but no LBP surveys. Work must occur during bird non-nesting season (15Aug-15Feb), though sidewalk demolition can occur year-round. The contractor must submit several plans 28 days before work begins, including Project Management, Accident Prevention, Quality Control, Environmental Protection, and Demolition plans. Progress meetings will be held bi-weekly, and monthly status reports with photographic logs are required.
