Performance Work Statement Project Title: B185 Cooling Tower Repairs NexGen Work Task #: 16590227
1. Objectives:
The Contractor shall procure and provide two new cooling tower fan transmissions, including associated hardware kits and flinger collars, as well as two new shaft and coupling hub connections for connection to the tower fan motors. A new tower fan motor shall also be provided for Tower #2. The transmissions, shafts, and coupling hubs for both towers shall be replaced and the motor for tower #2 shall also be replaced. The fans shall be re-balanced after the transmission replacement.
2. Conditions:
The existing cooling tower is a 2-cell BACross tower, model 333A-2. The existing cooling tower #2 motor is a BAC model 22AMCEBBAA (S/N 1007369552) rated at 20 hp, 3 ph, 1765 rpm, 208-230.4060V and 54-48.8/24/4 amp, 60 Hz, frame type 256E, SF 1.25, code H, TEFC enclosure, continuous duty.
3. Project Requirements
· The Contractor shall visit site before starting any work to verify existing conditions space requirements in work areas.
· The Contractor shall remove the tower fan guard and fan blade on each tower and shall replace the transmission, saft, and coupling hub on each tower.
· The Contractor shall replace the fan motor on tower #2, and on each tower shall align the shaft and hub connections.
· The Contractor shall reinstall the fan blades and guards and shall balance the new fans for full operational function.
· The Contractor shall install electrical and control connections to the new motor.
· The Contractor shall provide start up testing to prove satisfactory installation and capability of the new equipment.
· The Contractor shall provide at least a 1-year warranty on all labor and new materials.
· The Contractor shall clean up and dispose of all removed equipment and project waste from the replacements, as well as any trash generated from the work. Refuse shall be disposed of off-Base in accordance with Offutt AFB Environmental Special Conditions section 01 57 19.
4. Other General Requirements:
The contractor shall furnish all material, labor, transportation, equipment, tools, services, expertise, supervision, and incidentals required to fulfill the requirements of this contract. No alterations, additions, or deletions shall be made unless by prior approval of the government Project Manager and the government Procuring Contract Officer (PCO). The work shall conform to the most current applicable State, AFI, ETL, NFPA, and Unified Facility Criteria Standards. Work shall be completed in a neat, substantial, and competent manner. All personnel shall abide by all industry safety standards, such as OSHA, and the Contractor shall provide all required PPE. The contractor shall perform quality assurance activities that conform to the quality assurance processes outlined in International organization of Standards (ISO) 9001, Quality Management Systems. The Contractor shall use PWS requirements.
The Contractor shall coordinate with the Government for needed system operation to allow the work and subsequent testing on the pump. The Contractor shall provide their own lock-out-tag-outs as needed.
During construction the Government will occupy the existing facilities. The contractor shall not restrict nearby pedestrian or vehicular traffic and shall coordinate with the Contracting Officer’s Representatives to facilitate usage. The Contracting Officer’s Representatives shall be notified not less than 15 calendar days in advance of any interruptions in building utilities / services, which will be described in writing.
