About this file
This is a Purchase Description (PD) for hydraulic equipment required by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District for the Dredge Yaquina.
The procurement involves one hydraulic cylinder and one hydraulic vane pump, both engineered by Mathews Marine for marine steering system applications. The hydraulic cylinder specifications include a 5.00" bore, 36.00" stroke, 2.00" rod diameter, and spherical bearing base with clevis rod end mounting for heavy-duty hydraulic service. The hydraulic vane pump is a fixed-displacement, balanced V20 design series with foot mount, 1-1/2" NPT inlet port, 3/4" NPT outlet port, 8 GPM capacity at 1200 RPM, splined shaft design, opposite inlet port positioning, design number 11, and right-hand clockwise rotation. Contractors must submit one paper copy and one digital copy of equipment specification sheets and dimensional drawings demonstrating compliance with salient characteristics. Components must be designed to withstand corrosive saltwater environments and extreme mechanical stress, adhere to precise mounting tolerances for OEM hydraulic efficiency and system compatibility, and utilize corrosion-resistant materials with chrome-plated or equivalent cylinder rod plating. Quality assurance final inspection by the Technical Lead shall measure stroke length, bore, and mounting dimensions; contractors must provide 24-hour notice prior to inspection and achieve leak-free operation at rated pressure. Delivery is required Monday through Thursday (08:00–15:00 PT) to 8010 NW St Helens Road, Portland, OR 97210. The Contracting Officer is Ian Lutjens (Ian.K.Lutjens@usace.army.mil), and invoices must be submitted electronically to cefc-g2invoices@usace.army.mil upon satisfactory delivery completion.
