About this file
This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC). The Department is seeking to purchase advocacy services in accordance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) for a 5-year term. The intended vendor is the Gulf Coast Children's Advocacy Center, which is the designated certified rape crisis center for various correctional institutions in the specified counties. The services shall include providing inmates access to outside victim advocates for emotional support services related to sexual abuse. The Department determined this vendor is the only one that can meet its needs at this time to maintain PREA compliance.
The estimated dollar amount for the 5-year term is $52,258.00. The Department is the sole purchasing agency, and the funding source is the state. Prospective vendors are requested to provide information regarding their ability to supply the required services, and if it is determined they are only available from a single source, the agency will provide notice of its intended decision to enter a single-source purchase contract.
