About this file
This document is a Notification of Intent to Enter a Single-Source Purchase Contract (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Department of Financial Services, Division of State Fire Marshal - Florida State Fire College. The document describes the agency's intent to procure a migration of the current end-of-life building automation and central monitoring system to a newer Siemens Industry, Inc. system that is compatible with the existing Siemens heating, ventilation, and integration components at the Fire College. The current system must be upgraded within the next 12 months. Prospective vendors who believe they can provide these services are requested to submit relevant information by December 12, 2023.
The estimated value of the contract is $133,435.00. Siemens Industry, Inc. is identified as the sole-source provider, as they installed the original system in 1998 and only their new building automation and monitoring system will properly integrate with the existing Siemens components at the Fire College. The Department intends to award the contract to Siemens Industry, Inc. if no other qualified vendors come forward by the deadline with the ability to provide the required services.

Estimated Dollar Amount: $133,435.00
Justification for single source acquisition (what is necessary and unique about the product, service or source; steps taken to confirm unavailability of competition, as appropriate):
Siemens installed the current building automation and central monitoring system in 1998 with the Fire College’s heating, ventilation, and integration systems. This automation and monitoring system has reached its end of life and must be migrated to a newer version of Siemens building management system. The new automation and monitoring system must integrate with the legacy Siemens heating, ventilation, and integration systems that currently operate the Fire College heating and cooling system. Siemens is the only vendor capable of upgrading the existing system because the legacy heating, ventilation, and integration systems are all Siemens parts and only the new Siemens building automation and central monitoring system will integrate properly with them.
