About this file

This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (Form PUR 7776) from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the Aircuity Optinet Assurance Monitoring and Sensor Replacement project. FDOT's State Materials Office requires the Aircuity Optinet Assurance Program, a Control Safety System, to test for safe and breathable air. FDOT intends to award a three-year contract to the sole authorized vendor in the Northeast Florida region, Nelson & Company, LLC, to provide maintenance and support services for this system at an estimated cost of $69,872. FDOT is posting this notice in accordance with Florida Statutes to allow other prospective vendors to provide information about their ability to supply the required services.

The justification for the single source acquisition is that Nelson & Company is the only vendor authorized by the manufacturer to maintain and repair the Control Safety System in the specified region. FDOT will review any information received from other prospective vendors to determine if the services are available from a single source. If so, FDOT will post a notice of its intended decision to enter into a single source purchase contract.
