About this file

This is a Notice of Intended Decision to Enter into a Single Source Contract (PUR 7778) issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission for the procurement of Axon Enterprises Conducted Energy Weapons (CEWs/Tasers) and related accessories. The agency seeks to purchase tasers, equipment bundles, required accessories, cartridges, service plans, warranties, training materials, and training aids from Axon Enterprises. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Division of Law Enforcement, under the direction of Captain Mattison Prowant, has identified the need for Taser 10 or newer model devices as use-of-force options for sworn members during arrest or custody situations where subjects escalate to active resistance or present a physical threat. Prospective vendors interested in providing alternative products or services must submit written information regarding their capability to supply the described commodities no later than September 2, 2026, by 3:00 PM Eastern Time.

The total contract value is $6,000,000.00. Axon Enterprises has been identified as the sole source supplier because the Taser 10 is the only manufacturer-available device capable of firing ten single darts before requiring reload, a feature unique to Axon's product line. Additionally, Axon provides a proprietary Virtual Reality training package that enables officers to develop tactical proficiency and de-escalation skills without expending cartridges. The contract encompasses the full scope of tasers, accessories, service plans, warranties, training, and training aids necessary to support the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's law enforcement operations in accordance with General Order #5, the agency's Use of Force policy. The notice was posted on August 28, 2026, with a protest deadline established under Section 120.57(3), Florida Statutes. Interested parties may contact Rachel Massey, Assistant Purchasing Director, at rachel.massey@myfwc.com or (850) 510-9990.
