The Department intends to purchase the exclusive FloridaSatNet interoperable Push-To-Talk Satellite network, developed and managed by SkyBase Communications. This network allows public safety users in the state of Florida to communicate amongst themselves and with other agencies. The requested quantity is for the network service from July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025. The document was posted on June 24, 2024, and the last day for receipt of information is July 12, 2024.

The estimated dollar amount for this single-source acquisition is $100,000. The justification is that the FloridaSatNet channels are offered exclusively by SkyBase Communications and are necessary for public safety communications throughout the state. The Department of Juvenile Justice will have its own talk group as part of the service, with the primary FloridaSatNet channels monitored by the Division of Emergency Management.
