About this file

This is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) filed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services on behalf of the Florida Forest Service. The agency seeks to procure Dragon Egg Ignition Spheres, classified under UNSPSC codes for igniters, firefighting equipment, and fire suppression systems, to conduct controlled burns as part of state forest management efforts to reduce hazardous fuels and prevent catastrophic wildfire events. The contract is intended for execution through June 30, 2027. The procurement notice was posted on August 12, 2026, with a deadline for prospective vendors to submit information regarding their ability to supply the commodities by September 2, 2026, allowing for a 15-business-day advertisement period as required by Florida Statutes.

The approximate contract amount is $49,140.00, with a maximum potential value up to $100,000.00. Helifire, LLC has been identified as the intended single source vendor, as it is the exclusive U.S. distributor for Dragon Fire products and the only distributor capable of fulfilling the large orders required by the Florida Forest Service. The procurement was approved by multiple stakeholders within the Florida Forest Service and the Division of Administration, including the Forestry Center Manager, Assistant Director of Forestry, and Purchasing Director II. Prospective vendors are invited to submit information demonstrating their capability to supply the specified commodities; should the agency determine in writing that these services are available from multiple sources, it will proceed with competitive procurement procedures as outlined in Florida Administrative Code and statute.
