About this file
This document is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The agency is seeking to lease fifteen (15) FMC-0919-B Mechanical Juice Extractors from John Bean Technologies Corporation (JBT FoodTech) for the period of July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. These extractors are used to evaluate and determine the percent of total soluble solids per pound on delivered citrus, with the results used to determine the maturity of the delivered load. The agency has determined that JBT FoodTech holds the patent for this extractor, and there is no equivalent machine available. Prospective vendors have until April 7, 2023 to provide information regarding their ability to supply the required commodities or services.
The estimated contract amount is $356,745.00. The cost for leasing these machines is reimbursed by individual processing plants. This is a statutorily mandated single source procurement, and the agency will post notice of its intended decision to enter into an agreement with JBT FoodTech on the Vendor Information Portal pursuant to Section 120.57(3), Florida Statutes, if it is determined that the required commodities or services are only available from a single source after reviewing information received from prospective vendors.
