Intended Source (Vendor/Contractor):
Snider Tire, Inc., dba Snider Fleet Solutions
Estimated Dollar Amount:
$150,000.00
Justification for Single Source Acquisition (what is necessary and unique about the product, service or source; steps taken to confirm unavailability of competition, as appropriate):
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, National Highway Safety Traffic Administration, there were 664 tire-related motor vehicle traffic fatalities in 2020. Proper tire pressure is the most important part of maintaining tires. The
Department has installed an easy-to-use drive-through tire pressure and depth monitoring system at no cost to the driver.
This system provides drivers of passenger cars, tire pressure and tread depth measurements in seconds without the drivers having to exit their vehicles. Drivers can print the results of the readings at a kiosk located just feet away or elect to have results sent to a cell phone via text, or by email.
• WheelRight Limited holds patents on the drive-through TMS the Department seeks to utilize.
• Snider Tire, Inc. is the only authorized distributor of WheelRight's Tyre Management System and Services in the
U.S.
The TMS product and services are exclusive to WheelRight Tyre Management Technology. Snider Tire, Inc. has the only
U.S. partnership agreement to maintain the WheelRight's patented drive-through TMS. In addition to the TMS, the designated service plaza is currently equipped with free air stands. Drivers can test their tire pressure and tire tread depth measurements and inflate their tires in one (1) location at the service plaza. The free services offered to the public can reduce the number of tire-related incidents and save lives on Florida's Turnpike.
