About this file
This is a Description of Intended Single Source Purchase (PUR 7776) document from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, specifically targeting a marketing program with Barfoots of Botley Ltd. The document outlines a contract for the "Fresh from Florida" Grocery Retailer Marketing Program focused on promoting Florida sweet corn in Waitrose Supermarkets in the United Kingdom. The contract will run from execution date through June 30, 2026, with performance requirements including preparing "Fresh From Florida" labels and packaging for Florida sweetcorn products to be sold under the Waitrose Essentials brand, featuring the corn at a discounted price. The posting is dated 06/11/2025, with the last day for receipt of information being 07/02/2025.
The estimated contract value ranges from approximately $45,000 to $60,000, with Barfoots of Botley identified as the sole source vendor due to being the exclusive distributor of packaged fresh Florida sweet corn in Waitrose Supermarkets and the only approved vendor for in-store promotions, displays, and discounts. The justification for single-source acquisition emphasizes Barfoots of Botley's unique position as the only vendor capable of providing these specific marketing services. The vendor must be a non-paid member of the "Fresh From Florida" Industry Membership program, and the contract aligns with Florida Statute 571.2: Florida Agricultural Promotional Campaign Act, which aims to promote Florida agricultural commodities, value-added products, and agricultural-related businesses.
