About this file

This is a Public Construction Bond document required by the Board of County Commissioners of Walton County, Florida for construction projects. The bond serves as a financial guarantee that binds the Principal (contractor) and Surety (bonding company) to the County in a specified dollar amount. The bond requires the Principal to perform the construction contract at the times and in the manner prescribed, make prompt payments to all claimants supplying labor, materials, or supplies, pay the County for any losses, damages, expenses, costs, and attorney's fees resulting from contract default, and guarantee all work and materials for the time specified in the contract. The document contains standard execution sections requiring signatures and seals from both the Principal and Surety, with fields for the contract date, bond amount, and execution date.

The bond references Section 255.05(1) and (2) of Florida Statutes regarding claimant definitions and notice and time limitations for claims against the bond. The document specifies that any changes to the Contract Documents do not affect the Surety's obligation under the bond, and establishes Walton County, Florida as the venue for any litigation resulting from the bond. This construction bond is a standard requirement for public works projects in Florida and ensures financial protection for the County and all parties supplying labor and materials to the project.
