About this file
This document outlines the specifications for Pronghorn Solar GPS Transmitters, or radio collars, requested by the state of Nevada and the jurisdictions of Washoe County and Reno City through a solicitation for Wildlife Tracking Equipment. The radio collars should be capable of collecting a minimum of 6 GPS locations per day with a battery life of at least 36 months, and include features such as a mortality sensor, drop-off mechanism, and virtual fencing capabilities. The collars must utilize the Iridium satellite network for real-time data transmission and access via a web-based portal.
The solicitation requires vendors to provide detailed specifications on the drop-off mechanism, including weight and integration, and to submit their bid through the Nevada E-Pro system. The contract will be awarded to provide these GPS radio collars to support wildlife tracking efforts within Washoe County and Reno City.

Pronghorn Solar GPS Transmitters
GPS radiocollar capable of collecting a minimum of 6 locations per day with battery life lasting ≥ 36 months with a built-in mortality sensor and optional drop-off mechanism. Other features of radio collars should include a virtual fence or geo-fencing feature allowing user to program a geo-referenced boundary that will modify GPS fix schedule based on animal’s proximity to boundary. Data will be available real-time via Iridium network and accessible via web-based data portal.
