About this file

The document provided is an addendum to a request for proposals (RFP) issued by the Greater Lowell Regional Vocational Technical School District in Massachusetts for the production of a promotional video. The video is expected to be 5-8 minutes in length and shot in high definition, with the filming taking place at the school and at interviewees' homes or businesses within the school district's geographical area of Lowell, Dracut, Tyngsborough, or Dunstable. The video will be initially used for a New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) accreditation visit, but the district also plans to use it for showcasing the school to visitors from member towns, the state Department of Education, and other political or local leaders. The selected firm will be responsible for the shooting, editing, interviewing, and planning of the video based on the district's guiding criteria and ideas.

The RFP states that the budget for the project is established at $10,000 to $15,000, with some flexibility, but the district notes that as a public school district, they have limited resources and not a lot of flexibility in the budget. The district will help guide the story and provide a menu of items to capture, which will be used to create an outline by the contracted firm.

ADDENDA NO. 2

2019-2020 Promotional Video

November 2019

Since the in person meeting was changed to recommended not mandatory the following information is being passed along from that meeting. Information that was not related to cost, scope, or format of the project has not been included.

Introduction:

Michael Barton (Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment): The initial use of the video will be for the dinner leading up to our NEASC (New England Association of Schools and

Colleges) accreditation visit. Every 10 year NEASC comes to the school to look at Curriculum, Assessment, Instruction, Student Services and Support, School Finance and Community

Relations, and Culture and Leadership. From this visit they develop a comprehensive report about our school and the positives and negatives observed in their visit and reports produced for the visit. The video will be used for this kick-off initially however we would envision this being shown to groups of visitors from our member towns, the department of education for the state, and other political or local leaders as they visit our school. We may run this on our website, and in the school lobby.

The school district will help to direct the selected firm however the shooting, editing, interviewing, and planning will be the responsibility of the selected firm based on guiding criteria and ideas.

Questions and Answers:

Q: Will the interviews be setup by the school district?

A: Yes, the district will select and reach out to set time with the interviewees.

Q: Will preproduction and the outline be developed by the selected firm or the school district?

A: The school district will help to guide the story and come up with a menu of items to capture.

This menu will help to guide an outline that is ultimately created by the contracted firm.

Q: What is the budget and is the number firm?

A: The budget was established at 10,000 to 15,000. There could be wiggle room in here but this is a public school district so we do not have unlimited resources or a ton of flexibility in that right.
