The agreement establishes the framework for securing qualified consultants to provide structural engineering design services on an as-needed basis for campus projects typically valued under $220,000 per assignment. The contract period spans from November 2025 through October 2030, with potential extensions for up to four additional one-year periods. Proposals must be submitted electronically via OpenGov by October 3, 2025, with a mandatory pre-proposal meeting scheduled for September 17, 2025. The District anticipates making a contract recommendation by November 20, 2025, with contract execution commencing December 1, 2025. The contract price shall be determined on a project-by-project basis upon identification of specific District needs and technical specifications. Consultants are responsible for hiring, firing, taxes, workers' compensation, and benefits for non-employee contractors, with no employee benefits provided by the District or its affiliates. Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds equal to 100 percent of the contract price are required prior to work commencement, unless otherwise specified in supplemental conditions. Prevailing wage requirements and Department of Industrial Relations registration apply as detailed in Exhibit G. Community Workforce Agreement compliance is mandatory for applicable projects, with all subcontractors required to execute a Letter of Assent. Comprehensive insurance coverage and Drug-Free Workplace Certification are mandatory. The District reserves the right to award multiple contracts to different firms and reserves discretion regarding award contingent upon funding availability.
