About this file

The document is a construction contract for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) for the Hogsback WMA Wetland Restoration project located in Winnebago County, Iowa. The project involves constructing two dikes, conducting shallow water excavation, installing tiles, and performing drainage improvements in Section 9 of Township 100N, Range 23W. Key components include 1,150 cubic yards of on-site borrow excavation, 1,500 feet of tile investigation, 3,300 cubic yards of shallow water and principle spillway excavation, 5 tile breaks, 10 feet of 10" CMP with rodent guard, 1,940 feet of 8" non-perforated dual wall tile, 100 feet of straw wattles, and 25 tons of clean stone.

The project, identified as Project #25-02-95-01, requires contractors to access the site from 210th Avenue, with the DNR engineer providing specific location and elevation guidance. Contractors must strip 6 inches of topsoil from the embankment footprint, source borrow material from the wetland pool area at least 30 feet from the embankment, and compact materials in specified lifts. The tile installation will connect an existing intake in the right-of-way to a drainage ditch approximately 2,000 feet west, with a finished grade between 0.10% and 0.14%. Contractors are expected to maintain erosion control features and will be responsible for site preparation, material sourcing, and adhering to all applicable codes and ordinances.
