About this file
This Product Description details a federal contract opportunity for an Air Compressor for the 149th Fighter Wing's Fuel Shop at Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland, TX. The unit requires a high-volume air compressor with specific technical specifications: 98 CFM air volume, 125 psi pressure, and a system drier, designed to support maintenance and repair operations for F-16 aircraft and external fuel tanks. The compressor will be installed in Building 946 and must utilize the existing 480v 3-phase power available in the room.
The document includes a Google Maps aerial view highlighting the specific building location and a proposed shelter layout diagram showing spatial arrangements with zones like cold/warm areas, lockers, showers, and benches. The contract seeks a turnkey installation solution that includes necessary piping and wiring. Award will be based on multiple factors including price, delivery time, and technical acceptance, with the primary goal of addressing current limitations in the fuel shop's maintenance capabilities caused by insufficient portable air compressor performance.

DESCRIPTION
FUEL SHOP AIR COMPRESSOR
1.0 General:
1.1 Scope: The 149th Fighter Wing, Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland, TX is looking for a new Air Compressor for the Fuel Shop.
1.2 Background: The Fuel shop currently does not have an adequate air compressor to fulfill their needs.
Without compressed air in building 946 the maintenance repair effort suffers greatly due to portable air compressors not having enough air volume (CFM) to operate our external tank certifier and our tiger vacs. Tiger vacs are used to vacuum out residual fuel from the F-16 open fuel tanks and the certifier is used to troubleshoot, and leak check external fuel tanks.
1.2.1 Requirements: A high air volume (CFM) with120psi or more air compressor with a system drier is needed to troubleshoot and repair F-16 aircrafts and external fuel tanks.
1.3 Proposed shelter layout.
