About this file
This Product Description details a solicitation by the 149th Fighter Wing at Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland, TX for a new high-volume air compressor for their Fuel Shop in Building 946. The current portable air compressors are insufficient for operating critical maintenance equipment like external tank certifiers and tiger vacs used for F-16 aircraft fuel tank maintenance.
Specific requirements include an air compressor with a minimum of 120 psi air pressure, high cubic feet per minute (CFM) air volume, and an integrated system drier. The compressor is needed to support troubleshooting and repair operations for F-16 external fuel tanks. The document includes a Google Maps aerial view highlighting the location of Building 936 Fuel Shop and a proposed shelter layout diagram showing potential equipment placement. The solicitation appears to be a pre-solicitation under the Department of the Army National Guard, with the opportunity ID 6877c02e3f27d9eca80997e2.

FUEL SHOP AIR COMPRESSOR
1.0 General:
1.1 Scope: The 149th Fighter Wing, Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland, TX is looking for a new Air Compressor for the Fuel Shop.
1.2 Background: The Fuel shop currently does not have an adequate air compressor to fulfill their needs.
Without compressed air in building 946 the maintenance repair effort suffers greatly due to portable air compressors not having enough air volume (CFM) to operate our external tank certifier and our tiger vacs. Tiger vacs are used to vacuum out residual fuel from the F-16 open fuel tanks and the certifier is used to troubleshoot, and leak check external fuel tanks.
1.2.1 Requirements: A high air volume (CFM) with120psi or more air compressor with a system drier is needed to troubleshoot and repair F-16 aircrafts and external fuel tanks.
1.3 Proposed shelter layout.
