About this file
This is a Price Adjustment for Fuel document related to a Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) Central District contract for Manufactured Sand. The contract period extends from notice to proceed through November 16, 2026, with delivery to various locations as specified in the line items. The contract is for Manufactured Sand meeting Central District Specification 6B.
The fuel price adjustment mechanism is based on Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) pricing as reported by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The Starting Fuel Index for this contract is established at $5.742 per gallon, based on the price posted for May 2026. On the first Monday of each month, MoDOT will post the current Fuel Price Index on its website at www.modot.org/bid-opening-info, which will apply to all payment invoices for salt delivered during that month. Price adjustments occur in $0.10 per gallon increments, with corresponding $0.10 per ton adjustments to the salt price. Fuel price adjustments must be shown as a separate line item on each invoice. The Fuel Price Index can be accessed at https://www.modot.org/fuel-price-index.

Price Adjustment for Fuel
A price adjustment for fuel, if agreed upon by the bidder, will be made based upon the price of Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (ULSD) as reported by EIA – U.S. Energy Information Administration. The first day of the month (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays) in which the salt bids are advertised will be used to establish the “Starting Fuel Index” for the duration of the contract. The Starting Fuel Index for this contract is the price posted for May 2026, which is $5.742 per gallon.
On the first Monday of each month, MoDOT will post the “Fuel Price Index” of ULSD as reported by EIA – U.S. Energy Information Administration, which will apply to all payment invoices for salt delivered during that month regardless of the type of fuel used. If the price of fuel increases or decreases $0.10 per gallon, the price of salt will increase or decrease $0.10 per ton accordingly. Adjustments will be made in $0.10 increments.
The “Fuel Price Index” can be found on MoDOT’s website, www.modot.org/bid-opening-info, under the following link: https://www.modot.org/fuel-price-index.
Fuel price adjustments must be shown as a separate line item on each invoice.
