About this file

This document is an email exchange between Jennifer Villeda from the City of Santa Monica's Fleet Management and Kim Morales, a Labor Compliance Analyst at GCAP Services, Inc., regarding a prevailing wage determination for a tire service contract. The City of Santa Monica is preparing to solicit bids for an annual tire service contract with an estimated spend of $20,000 per year for 5 years, covering light/medium and heavy-duty tires and components. The scope of services includes furnishing and delivering all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform wheel and tire services, with the vendor expected to deliver tires to the city's shop and respond to road calls within city limits.

In response to the inquiry, Kim Morales from GCAP Services definitively states that the proposed tire service contract would not be subject to prevailing wage requirements. The email communication indicates that the city is seeking a vendor capable of providing comprehensive tire services, including on-site and mobile tire replacement and repair. The contract appears to be a straightforward service agreement without complex wage or labor provisions, with the primary focus on ensuring reliable tire maintenance and replacement for the city's fleet vehicles.

Hello Kim, Fleet Management is looking to go out to BID for light/medium and heavy-duty tires and components. The vendor will come into our shop to deliver tires but will also respond to road calls. Are they subject to the Prevailing Wage? Please see scope of services below. Services/Repairs would take place at out location or within the City limits.

Our bid is for an annual estimated spend of $20,000/year for 5 years. I appreciate your time.
