Summary of Statement of Work for Press Brake

This Statement of Work details the acquisition and installation of one fully installed press brake system for the Aircraft Structural Maintenance section (4 EMS) at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina, with an effective date of 24 August 2026. The press brake is a metal forming tool designed to enable maintainers to make precision bends in metal parts with computer precision, replacing the current manual hand-forming process using hammers and forming blocks. The system will improve production output, reduce part damage, and enable the shop to produce duplicate aircraft parts and Egress leg guards efficiently.

The General System Specifications require the press brake to operate on compressed air at 100 PSI or less and/or 220v outlet (with manufacturer-provided transformer if needed); include precision servo motors with high precision repeatability to within 0.001 inches with a minimum of one servo motor per driving ram; feature a rigid frame capable of handling off-centered loads; employ CNC controls with on-board computer capable of operating all processes and running diagnostics; provide automatic thickness detection without additional input; include a rear safety fence or cage that stops ram operations when opened; and offer a minimum 18-month warranty on parts and labor from delivery date regardless of machine hours. The contractor shall perform full professional installation including testing and in-person training for shop personnel on basic use and safe operations, and provide all manufacturer's literature, operating instructions, and warranty documentation to the government point of contact. The Government will provide the contractor access to the work site during mutually agreed-upon duty hours for installation and training purposes.

Statement of Work For

Press Brake At

Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina 24 August 2026

1.0 BACKGROUND

1.1. The press brake is a metal forming tool that enables maintainers to make precision bends in the metal forming process that also allows clearance for previous bends and additional obstructions encounter with multi-contoured parts. This system will allow the Aircraft Structural Maintenance section to maximize production output for all maintenance actions that require multiple bends within close tolerance of other bends or to quickly produce precise duplicate parts for commonly replaced in-shop produced aircraft parts. At this time, the Aircraft Structural Maintenance section is having to utilize hand forming parts using hammers and forming blocks. This process is slower, less precise and often results in damage to the part being manufactured, forcing the member to restart the manufacturing process. A press brake would allow us to reproduce parts with computer precision while also enabling close proximity bending often encountered in mass produced EGRESS parts.

1.2. As we are a metal working shop, and this is a metal working tool specifically designed around the maintenance requirements, it is a much needed source of repair capabilities.

2.0 OBJECTIVES

2.1. The objective of this SOW is to obtain (1) fully installed Press Brake for 4 EMS. The system must be installed according to this document and meet all requirements according to General System Specifications and the referenced Salient Characteristics.

3.0 SCOPE

3.1. Detail the contractor’s responsibilities. The contractor shall install the unit in the section to include all wiring and electrical needs.

4.0 REQUIREMENTS

4.1. General System Specifications:

• Unit must be capable of running off compressed air at 100 PSI or less and/or 220v outlet, unless the manufacture provides and installs a wired transformer to increase current capabilities to match machine requirements.

• Have precision Servo motors capable of high precision repeatability to within 0.001”

• A minimum of one servo motor per driving ram, to increase production rates while ensuring strength capabilities.

• No Hydraulic systems that would require refill, servicing, or the creation of a new waste stream process.

• A rigid frame capable of handling off-centered loads without frame twist or distortion

• CNC controlled system with on-board computer that is capable of operating all machine processes and running machine diagnostics

• Capable of automatic thickness detection without additional input to ensure precise bends without the need of spacing tools

• A rear safety fence or cage to ensure safety, but that can be opened to service the equipment or retrieve parts. This system bust stop ram operations when opened to prevent injury.

• It must include a minimum warranty of 18 months on parts and labor from the date of delivery no matter how many hours the shop has put on the unit.

• It is the only tool capable of making Egress leg guards without additional hand forming

• The tooling die company has already started to mock-up designs for forming commonly used parts without the need to heat treat. 4.2. Installation & Workmanship: The contractor shall perform a complete, professional

Installation and Training, which includes…

• Full and complete installation to include; test run and in-person training for shop personnel for basic use and safe operations.

5.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED PROPERTY/SERVICES

5.1. The Government will provide the contractor with access to the work site during mutually agreed-upon duty hours for the purpose of installation and training.

6.0 REPORTING REQUIREMENTS

6.1. The contractor shall provide all manufacturer’s literature, operating instructions, and warranty documentation to the government point of contact.

7.0 WARRANTY

7.1. The contractor shall warrant that the entire unit, including all parts, components, and labor, will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a minimum of eighteen

(18) months, commencing on the date of final acceptance by the Government.
