About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for preserving various marine equipment for the US Coast Guard Cutter WYACONDA. The project involves media blasting and painting two boat boom davits, two Shaw Box electric hoists, one capstan deck plate, one capstan barrel, two capstan guards, and miscellaneous parts at a contractor's facility. The work is to be completed between April 2-30, 2025, at the Coast Guard Schlimme Industrial Facility in St. Louis, MO, with specific requirements for surface preparation, inspection, and painting using approved coating systems.

The SOW details precise technical specifications for surface preparation (SSPC-SP 10/NACE No. 2 blast cleaning), painting systems with distinct color requirements (Spar Buff, Blue, and Grey/Green), and multiple inspection points throughout the process. Contractors must follow strict quality assurance procedures, including environmental readings, surface profile logging, and compliance with EPA certifications. The total surface area to be treated is approximately 330 square feet, with transportation of parts to and from the contractor's facility to be managed by the contractor, with loading and unloading performed by Coast Guard personnel.
