About this file

This document is a Presolicitation Notice from the Western Federal Lands Highway Division for the National Forest Service System Road 221 Rehabilitation project. The project involves road rehabilitation along USFR 221 in the Nez Perce National Forest, spanning approximately 27.5 miles from Milepost 6.8 to 34.3, with specific work including flexible pavement surface rehabilitation, culvert replacements, and shoulder repairs. The solicitation (No. 69056726R000003) is part of an Idaho, Montana, and Surrounding Areas Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC), with proposals accepted only from seven pre-selected prime contractors: ASCORP Inc., Granite Construction, Hamilton Construction, M.A. Deatley Construction, MJ Hughes Construction, and Thompson Contracting.

The solicitation documents will be available during the winter of 2025/2026, with interested parties advised to monitor SAM.gov for the exact release date. A government-provided materials source may be available at the Twin Cabin quarry site. Technical questions should be emailed to wfl.plansspec@dot.gov, and general inquiries can be directed to wfl.contracts@dot.gov or 360-619-7520. Due to potential snow conditions, prospective offerors are encouraged to view the project site during fall, with post-October 1 access being weather-dependent and requiring coordination with the Salmon Challis National Forest.
