About this file

These documents are Exhibits 3, 4, and 17, which are Authorization and Consent clauses and Rights to Proposal Data provisions for a federal contract. The exhibits address intellectual property rights and protections for the government and contractor:

Exhibit 3 (FAR 52.227-1) authorizes the government's use and manufacture of inventions covered by U.S. patents during contract performance, with specific provisions for liability and patent infringement. The seller must include similar clauses in subcontracts exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold. Exhibit 4 (DEAR 970.5227-4) provides broader authorization for invention use and includes provisions for copyright infringement, requiring similar clause inclusion in subcontracts for supplies, services, and research activities. Exhibit 17 establishes the government's unlimited rights to technical data contained in the proposal upon which the subcontract is based, with potential exclusions for specific data pages.
