About this file
The document is a Salient Characteristics specification for fire department personal protective equipment (PPE) storage requirements for the Little Rock Air Force Base Fire Station. The specification details two primary requirements: 105 lockers for firefighter daily use PPE storage and 8 racks for firefighter second set PPE storage.
The lockers must be modular, freestanding, constructed of heavy-duty steel with a powder-coated finish, featuring open grid-style panels for maximum air circulation. Each locker space will be 18-20" wide, 20" deep, and 82" tall, with a bottom shelf for boots, hanging bar with hooks, helmet shelf, and nameplates. The layout includes one 14-locker row, three 24-locker rows in a back-to-back configuration, one 12-locker row, and one 7-locker row. The accompanying 8 storage racks will have 12 shelves approximately 24" wide and 32" deep, with overall dimensions not exceeding 78"x32"x82". This requirement is part of the Air Force's effort to expand PPE storage capacity from 55 to 100 firefighters.
