About this file

This document is Amendment No. 1 to bid solicitation PKA-15-745 for the Poughkeepsie Mine Safety Closure Project, issued by the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety under the office of the Governor. The amendment provides clarifications and modifications to the original bid documents for mine closure and remediation work at the Poughkeepsie Mine site. Key changes include revised specifications for multiple features, such as Feature 11a converting to a Rebar Shaft Grate with I-Beam design, Feature 14 changing to Polyurethane Foam closure requiring approximately 30 cubic yards of material, and Feature 16 shifting from Corrugated Steel Pipe to a 20-foot length ADS N-12 Corrugated HDPE Pipe with specific drainage requirements. Additional features (33, 34, and 36) now offer a Grated Adit closure option per specification SWS 11. Updated maps, mine site field forms, and revised bid schedules are available via the VSS website. A pre-bid meeting was held with an attendance list provided. The bid submittal deadline is April 21, 2015 at 4:00 p.m., with bid opening scheduled for April 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Bidders are encouraged to submit via the VSS system, and all previous terms and conditions of the original Invitation for Bid remain in effect except as modified by this amendment.

The amendment addresses technical specifications and project constraints including wetland protection requirements for Features 28-30, which prohibit equipment crossing of wetland areas. Helicopter access and material staging areas require coordination with the Project Manager, U.S. Forest Service Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forest, and U.S. Bureau of Land Management Tres Rios Field Office, with helicopters required to be capable of lifting loads at 12,000 feet elevation. Bidders must acknowledge receipt and acceptance of the amendment on the bid form and submit the revised bid schedule by the April 21, 2015 deadline to Teresa Ryan at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety in Denver, Colorado.
