About this file
This document is a procurement specification for portable light towers for the Department of the Air Force, Security Forces organization at NH02, requested by Jeffrey J. Matteson.
The requirement is for two compact vertical mast diesel-powered mobile light towers, each with a minimum 6kW capacity. Each unit must feature high-efficiency, directional LED light fixtures rated at a minimum of 350 watts per fixture with 360-degree rotating capability. The mast assembly must be powered with non-manual operation. Each tower requires a liquid-cooled diesel engine compliant with Tier 4 Final emissions standards and a minimum 30-gallon fuel tank capacity. Auxiliary power output specifications include one 120 VAC, 20A GFCI duplex outlet and one 240 VAC, 30A Twistlock receptacle for external mission equipment. Each light tower must be mounted on a heavy-duty trailer equipped with a standard 2-inch ball coupler, DOT-compliant highway-rated tires, and a lockable, weather-resistant, sound-attenuated enclosure. The operational intent is to provide tactical illumination for dark avenues of approach, entry control point safety, and perimeter surveillance support for Air Force Security Forces operations.
