l. Introduction and Purpose Essexville-Hampton Public Schools (the "District") is soliciting proposals from qualified, licensed pool mechanical/plumbing contractors to perform repairs to the main drain system and chemical controller equipment at the Garber High School natatorium (pool), located at 213 Pine St, Essexville, MI 48732 (the "Project"). The District intends to enter into a contract with the firm whose proposal is determined to be the most advantageous to the District, taking into consideration price, qualifications, experience, and proposed approach, as further described in this Request for Proposal ("RFP").

This RFP is not an offer to contract. The District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive minor irregularities, and to negotiate with one or more respondents, in its sole discretion.

2. Background and Project Overview The Garber High School pool currently requires replacement of the main drain modulation valve and upgrades to the chemical controller and flow monitoring system. During evaluation, it was identified that the existing main drain piping is significantly corroded. Becalse of this condition, the District is requesting proposals for both a Base Bid (repair/replace in place) and an Altemate (abandon and reroute the main drain system), as describedin Seciion 3 below, so the District can evaluate the most appropriate long-term solution.

2.1 Existing Conditions

' Existing main drain modulation valve (6") requires replacement.

' Main drain piping is reported to be badly corroded; there is risk of pipe failure and basement flooding if disturbed.

' Existing chemical controller and flow monitoring equipment are outdated and require replacement/upgrade.

' Any modification to the main drain configuration is subject to EGLE (Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy) ieview and may r"qui* u variance.

Respondents are strongly encouraged to attend the site walkthrough (see Section g) to directly assess the condition of the existing main drain piping, valve, and mechanical room prior to submitting a proposal.
