About this file

This document is a Narrative & Cost Estimate from Social Current for the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services (ILDCFS) regarding its Council on Accreditation (COA) Public Agency Reaccreditation and Maintenance of Accreditation for Fiscal Year 2026 (July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026). The document outlines the process for maintaining COA accreditation, which includes a reaccreditation fee, maintenance of accreditation fees, and a site visit for Cook County. The reaccreditation is for a five-year period, with a provision that extending beyond five years incurs an additional 20% fee per year. The site visit will be conducted by two peer reviewers over two days.

The total estimated cost for reaccreditation is $140,395, broken down as follows: $126,395 for the third and final installment of the reaccreditation fee, $4,000 for Maintenance of Accreditation (MOA) fees for four regions (Central Office, Cook Region, Central Region, and Southern Region), and $10,000 for the site visit fee. The MOA is a self-reporting tool that requires submission of aggregate data on health, safety, and casework practices, and reports on critical events and organizational changes. The site visit fee covers all expenses for two peer reviewers, including travel, lodging, and meals, with a flat rate of $5,000 per reviewer for a two-day visit.
