About this file

This solicitation is for a construction project to expand and build new parking lots at two locations within Bandelier National Monument in New Mexico. The first project is to construct a 35,200 square foot parking lot with 38 car spaces, 2 handicap spaces, and 3 bus/RV parking spaces at Tsankawi, along with a shuttle stop. The second project expands the existing Frey Trailhead parking lot at Juniper Campground by 40 additional spaces. Both projects are located in culturally and environmentally sensitive areas. Significant construction items include roadway excavation, asphalt paving, aggregate, clearing and grubbing, and colored concrete curbing. The estimated price range for both projects is $2,000,000 to $5,000,000. The solicitation was anticipated to be advertised in early October 2022 with construction to start in April 2023. This opportunity will be set aside for competition under the HUBZone program. The soliciting agency is the Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration.
