About this file
This document is an introductory guide that explains the purpose and usage of the General Application Instructions (GAI) for Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) funding opportunities. The GAI document is designed to be read in conjunction with the specific program announcement for each funding opportunity and serves as a companion resource that provides supplementary details and procedures for application preparation and submission.
The document clarifies the division of responsibilities between the program announcement and the GAI: the program announcement contains what applicants need to submit, while the GAI contains detailed instructions on how to submit applications. The document emphasizes the importance of version matching, instructing users to verify that the GAI version on its cover page matches the version specified on the front page of the corresponding program announcement to ensure accurate referencing and compliance with current requirements.
