About this file
This document is an introductory cover page for CDMRP Funding Opportunity Application Instructions. It establishes the relationship between two key documents applicants must use in conjunction with each other: the General Application Instructions (GAI) and the program announcement for a specific funding opportunity offered by the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). The program announcement specifies what applicants must submit, while the GAI provides detailed procedural guidance on how to prepare and submit applications.
The document emphasizes the importance of version alignment between documents to ensure accurate referencing. Applicants are instructed to access the GAI through hyperlinks provided in the program announcement and to verify that the GAI version matches the version specified on the front page of the program announcement. This is a foundational document that does not contain substantive application requirements, award information, or funding details.

The General Application Instructions (GAI) are designed to be read in conjunction with the program announcement for a funding opportunity offered by the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP).
The program announcement provides basic information necessary to prepare an application (i.e., what to submit), whereas the GAI provides additional details and instruction for both application preparation and submission (i.e., how to submit).
To access the General Application Instructions, use the hyperlinks provided in the program announcement. For accurate referencing, ensure that the version on the cover page of the GAI matches the version specified on the front page of the program announcement.
