About this file
This document is an instructional guide for CDMRP (Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs) funding opportunity applications. It establishes that the General Application Instructions (GAI) are companion documents to program announcements and serve complementary purposes: program announcements contain basic information about what applicants must submit, while the GAI provides detailed instructions on how to prepare and submit applications. The document emphasizes the importance of version matching between the GAI and the program announcement to ensure accurate referencing and compliance with current requirements. Applicants are directed to access the GAI through hyperlinks provided in the relevant program announcement and must verify that the GAI version matches the version specified on the program announcement's front page.

The General Application Instructions (GAI) are designed to be read in conjunction with the program announcement for a funding opportunity offered by the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP).
The program announcement provides basic information necessary to prepare an application (i.e., what to submit), whereas the GAI provides additional details and instruction for both application preparation and submission (i.e., how to submit).
To access the General Application Instructions, use the hyperlinks provided in the program announcement. For accurate referencing, ensure that the version on the cover page of the GAI matches the version specified on the front page of the program announcement.
