About this file

The document is a Pipe Standard Specification from Greenville County, South Carolina, detailing technical requirements for storm drain pipe suppliers. The county is seeking qualified vendors to provide storm drain pipes ranging from 15" to 60" in sizes, specifically requesting Reinforced Concrete Pipe (RCP), High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), and High-Performance (HP) pipes for gravity-flow storm drainage applications. The contract will span one year, beginning July 1, 2024, with the possibility of four additional annual renewals, and the county reserves the right to award the contract to one or multiple vendors.

The specification outlines precise technical requirements for the pipes, including specific characteristics such as smooth interior walls, annular exterior corrugations, and joint specifications for different pipe types. Pipes must meet manufacturing standard designs and pass external load crushing strength tests. The pipes are intended for various infrastructure uses, including storm drains, culverts, underground stormwater piping, and driveway installations. Specific pipe types include Class III RCP with Wall Type B (smooth wall), HDPE pipes in 15"-36" range with Type S specifications, and HP Storm pipes from 15"-60", all requiring specific joint reinforcement and gasket configurations.
