Pheasant Branch Greenway Enhancement Design RFP Questions City Contract #9248 City of Madison, WI Questions received by: 4:00 pm November 10th, 2022 Answers posted by: 4:00 pm November 14, 2022

1. Could you please clarify the design expectations related to the box culverts? Section 5.5.2(a) of the City Standard Specifications initially indicates that the structural design of the box culvert is the responsibility of the contractor (yellow highlighted section below). Later it indicates that City Engineering shall complete the design (red circled section below). Can you please provide additional information on what the selected consultant should provide?

Response: The contractor is responsible for providing box culvert shop drawings with a stamped structural design. The sentence that states “City Engineering shall complete this design” is an error; City Engineering will be removing it from the specification. The consultant will need to provide a plan set that shows the box culverts (opening dimension, fill depth, length, wingwalls, etc.) and the precaster will prepare shop drawings and structural design based on that.

2. Is the intent to have the Public Information Meeting a virtual or in‐person meeting?

Response: The Public Information Meetings will be virtual. However, it is expected that the stakeholder meetings will be held in‐person.
